Steve Kaufman, World's Top Pop Artists Return to Galicia

Steve Kaufman, World’s Top Pop Artists Return for “Pop Art Icons” at the Marcos Valcárcel Cultural Center in Galicia, Spain

January 1, 2017 / Galicia, Spain -- American Pop Art, Inc. is delighted to announce the exhibition “Pop Art Icons” happening now in Galicia, Spain, featuring spectacular works by legendary artists Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman, Robert Indiana, Keith Haring and more, on exhibit from December 22, 2016 through February 19, 2017 at the Marcos Valcárcel Cultural Center in Ourense.

“Pop Art Icons” brings together works by the most outstanding exponents of the pop art movement: Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman, Antonio De Felipe, Mel Ramos, Petro Psaier, Robert Indiana, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, and Keith Haring.  This exhibition follows “Pure Pop Art,” the unprecedented 2013 line up and first exhibition of its kind for the region of Galicia.

New and returning visitors will view illustrated magazines, posters, films or comics that served as a basis for creating portraits, the breaking of previous trends, and experience the individualism of each pop artist.  Every work of art serves as a snapshot of information and branding that speaks to us in conversation, and captures the essence, advances in industry, and fast pace of that moment in time.
As art enthusiasts of all ages discover and embrace the essential message of the pop art movement and artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Steve Kaufman, Keith Haring, Robert Rauschenberg, Mel Ramos, Robert Indiana and Pietro Psaier, it is not surprising that some of their works of art have reached a value of $100 million.

American Pop Art, Inc., established in 2000 and incorporated in 2005, is honored and proud to work exclusively with the art of Steve Kaufman (1960-2010), the former assistant of Andy Warhol.  It was Warhol who gave Steve Kaufman the nickname “SAK” from the initials of Steve Alan Kaufman.

Steve Kaufman made important progress in his career by reinterpreting and enhancing the pop art painting techniques he learned at The Factory, Warhol’s studio in New York.  Steve Kaufman developed his own series of styles and techniques, most notably his use of hand-embellishment. Kaufman painted his favorite “icons” with vivid swaths of color, and achieved worldwide success.
