Steve Kaufman “Rat Pack” Painting on Showcase as Popular Production Premieres in Italy

December 21, 2012 / Trieste, Italy -- American Pop Art, Inc., a virtual art gallery at www.americanpopartinc.com, is proud to announce that artist Steve Kaufman’s famous “Rat Pack” painting will be on exhibit as the musical production “Christmas with the Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas,” makes its Italian debut on January 3-6 at the Politeama Rossetti, Hall Assicurazioni Generali.
“Christmas with the Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas,” starring the "Rat Pack" Big Band and Burelli Sisters, captures one of the most beautiful, energetic, magical moments in the history of 20th Century music and features songs by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, and Sean Cavanagh. American pop artist Steve Kaufman’s colorful 1997 painting of the famous “Rat Pack” will be on prominent display in the lobby of the theatre as guests are greeted for five scheduled performances.
The “Rat Pack" was a talented group of American artists united by friendship and a passion for music: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. They were later joined by Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford. The term “Rat Pack” was invented by actress Lauren Bacall who used it to describe the group returning from a night on the town. These artists often performed together throughout the 50’s and 60’s, with such success that their evenings became one of the main attractions of Las Vegas. Members of The Rat Pack were the protagonists of several films, including Ocean's Eleven.
“The Rat Pack was a phenomenon. They were globally loved and their music and humor was sensational,” said Diana Vachier, owner of American Pop Art, Inc., an online gallery exclusively dedicated to Steve Kaufman art. “When we think of iconic people we always think of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and of course Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. These people enhanced our lives through their acting, music, and humor and we love watching them,”
Artist Steve Kaufman loved and respected these "icons," and painted them to honor them.
“It was his way of paying homage to show the art world how important The Rat Pack was and still is. This special show that will be in Trieste, Italy shows you how far and how loved they still are,” Diana Vachier said. The Rat Pack painting was donated to the theatre by a major collector of Steve Kaufman art.
The concept to recreate the charm and life of the Rat Pack association with the magic of the theater, voice, musicians, and dancers culminated in a successful 8-season run in London. Crowds will embrace the nostalgia of such masterpieces as “The Lady is a Tramp,” “Mr. Bojangles,” “I've Got You Under My Skin,” “That's Amore,” “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime,” “New York, New York,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Sway,” “Volare,” “My Way,” “Memories are Made of This,” and a few holiday favorites.
Additional information about “Christmas with the Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas” may be found on the Teatro Stabile Friuli Venezia Giulia website at http://bit.ly/VUNJY1. Pop Art’s Finest, Steve Kaufman Works Now on Exhibitat the Museum of Passion in Valladolid, Spain

August 15, 2012 / Valladolid, Spain -- American Pop Art, Inc., an online virtual art gallery at www.americanpopartinc.com exclusively dedicated to Steve Kaufman art, is proud to announce that 90 works by the world’s leading pop artists are now on display at the Museum of Passion in Valladolid, Spain.
“This is POP ART!" an exhibit featuring dozens of works by Steve Kaufman, Keith Haring, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol can be viewed now through September 19, 2012 at El Museo de Pasión de Valladolid, España. Additional museum information and directions may be found on the Valladolid Culture and Tourism web site at http://bit.ly/NLgk48.
“It is very exciting that these brilliant American Pop Artists works are so universal. Andy Warhol and Steve Kaufman and their fellow comrades have made such an important impact in the art world globally. Not only have they immortalized their subjects and made them into icons but they themselves have become immortalized,” said Diana Vachier, owner of American Pop Art, Inc., who had worked with Steve Kaufman since 2001. “I am so blessed to have known and worked with Steve Kaufman and feel honored to have stood in his shadow. Our virtual website makes it possible for people all over the world to see his art and learn more about him. He is very deeply missed and it is my passion to promote his legacy.”
As a young artist, Andy Warhol was uninterested in the abstract expressionism that was so popular at the time. Instead, Warhol was drawn to consumer products -- he created paintings based on an item or an image of daily life, advertising and comics. The screen process, serial repetition of an element from popular mass culture, the world of consumption, or mass media characterized his work.
In 1963, Andy Warhol founded the Factory workshop in New York, where he enlisted young artist Steve Kaufman as his assistant. Steve Kaufman, remembered as the “Prince of Pop Art,” went on to create the 6-color silkscreen process and other methods, further defining how any object of daily life can rise to the level of art. Kaufman is remembered as a charismatic American pop artist and a generous humanitarian.

Pop Art by Steve Kaufman Now on Exhibitat the Palazzo Guiscardo in Pietrasanta, Italy

July 13, 2012 / Pietrasanta, Italy -- American Pop Art, Inc., an online virtual art gallery exclusively dedicated to Steve Kaufman art, is proud to announce that highly prized artwork by the late Steve Kaufman is now on display at the Palazzo Guiscardo in Pietrasanta, Italy.
Described as a “dream hotel,” the Palazzo Guiscardo is a stunning 19th century palace that has been transformed into a luxury residence, and located in the Versilia stretch of beaches along the Tuscan coast. The art experience in Pietrasanta is as essential as breathing, hotel officials claim, and so they established an art gallery featuring modern and pop art works by artists Andy, Steve Kaufman, Giuseppe Veneziano, Andrea Franco lino, Massimo Caccia, Formisano, and Piero Giannoni.
Steve Kaufman’s Half a Hundred Dollar Ben, Marilyn Chanel, Lady Liberty, Hearts, NYC Taxi, Red Bull, Marilyn "Come here," and Peace paintings are part of this exciting exhibit. Former assistant to Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman is remembered as a charismatic American pop artist and a generous humanitarian. You may view the Palazzo Guiscardo’s gallery online at http://www.palazzoguiscardo.it/ita/art_gallery.htm.
“It gives me such happiness to see that Steve Kaufman's art is getting the exposure and appreciation it deserves. It is sad that when an artist passes that their work is taken so much more seriously. I am now being bombarded by collectors for his art. Like the saying goes, ‘you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone,’” said Diana Vachier of Long Beach, NY, who had worked with the late artist since 2001.
When the Palazzo Guiscardo was first renovated, all the original architectural features such as the floors, banisters and decorations were saved. The hotel has nine rooms, each with its own distinct style and furniture, and each named after the types of precious regional marble that adorn the baths. For more information about Palazzo Guiscardo in Pietrasanta, Italy, please visit http://www.palazzoguiscardo.it/index_eng.html.

American Pop Art, Inc. CelebratesHistoric Art Exhibit of Andy Warhol and Friends
Long Island Virtual Art Studio statement regarding symbolic gathering of world famous artists in Warhol’s hometown

May 17, 2012 / Long Beach, NY – American Pop Art, Inc., a Long Island based virtual art gallery exclusively dedicated to Steve Kaufman art, is proud to celebrate a historic and unprecedented art exhibit featuring the works of Andy Warhol and his world-famous colleagues, now through June 30, 2012.
In a historic move, more than 150 works by pop art king Andy Warhol, plus treasured works by Warhol's good friends Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michael Basquiat, and Steve Kaufman will meet in an unparalleled exhibition in the hometown of Warhol's parents -- a region where pop art had been previously banned by the communist regime. The stellar showcase marks very exciting news for American Pop Art Inc., local art collectors, and pop art fans worldwide.
“This is HUGE, and very exciting. To all collectors, be proud to own one of these paintings, and also know it's a great investment. I am so proud of Steve Kaufman and what he accomplished in his short life.” said Diana Vachier of Long Beach, NY, owner of American Pop Art, Inc. and long-time friend of the late Steve Kaufman. “No matter what the economy is, the best investment is art. Art is the only thing that always goes up in value. People buy art instead of stock.”
The exhibition, titled “Writing as an Image, Writing within an Image” is being held at the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in northeastern Slovakia, Europe’s only Andy Warhol museum. Warhol’s parents left this region and emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1900’s.
Highlights of the exhibit include the ‘LOVE’ portfolio by Robert Indiana (Deluxe Edition), some of the more recent works by Andy Warhol and all the Steve Kaufman canvases, none of which has been exhibited in Central Europe before. For additional details about this exhibit, please visit: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/5/prweb9502015.htm
