Great Finds for Art and Music Lovers
in Kids Are Heroes Global Silent Auction

May 29, 2013 / New York, NY --  American Pop Art, Inc., a virtual gallery at www.americanpopartinc.com exclusively dedicated to Steve Kaufman art, is proud to announce its contribution to the Kids Are Heroes Global Auction to help support kids who volunteer in their community.  The online Global Auction, launched on May 27, 2013, may be accessed through the Kids Are Heroes website at http://www.kidsareheroes.org.

Kids Are Heroes® is a non-profit that empowers, encourages and inspires children to become leaders through volunteerism and community involvement. The organization creates an environment where it is normal for kids to volunteer, and highlights and supports children who are making a difference through their selfless acts of giving.

For the Kids Are Heroes Global Auction, American Pop Art, Inc. has contributed Steve Kaufman’s “Campbell’s Soup Cream of Mushroom,” a 12” x 15” limited edition, hand embellished oil painting on canvas silkscreen, gallery wrapped and numbered 25 out of 50, which retails for about $1,400.  The artwork offers a warmly whimsical, retro feel with bold red hues and accents of green and blue.

Former assistant to Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman (aka SAK) is remembered as one of the greatest American pop artists and a generous humanitarian.

Children are our future leaders, and we must support and encourage them,” said Diana Vachier, owner of American Pop Art, Inc. “During his lifetime, Steve Kaufman aided former gang kids by giving them jobs in his studio. He believed in them. Kids are indeed heroes, and each one has the power to change the world.”

“Every hour that goes into the development and support of our organization is volunteered. We have been recently talking to artists who wanted to support us, and rather than hosting a silent auction locally where everything would have to be shipped to us initially, we realized our fan base is online, so we came up with this idea,” Gabe O'Neill, co-founder of Kids Are Heroes.
